Bird Flu Maps
Below you'll find the current bird flu maps
(including 2007) from
the WHO (World Health Organization). Each displays either confirmed human cases
of
H5N1 avian
influenza or areas reporting confirmed occurrence of H5N1 avian
influenza in poultry and wild birds. Maps are displayed by cases for the entire
World and then by Africa, Asia, Europe and Middle East.
Maps are further divided by date range. Dates for
one set of maps include statistics for January 1 through December 31, 2006 and
for the second set, the latest available update for 2007 . Since 2003,
the WHO reports
there have been 274 confirmed human cases of contracting the Avian Influenza
A/(H5N1) virus and of those, 167 have died. The virus has been reported in 11 countries so far. Larger maps
